Sian Williams is Senior Policy Adviser for Child Health at UNICEF UK, leading the organisation’s policy work on global child health to deliver impactful advocacy targeted towards the UK Government.
Prior to joining UNICEF UK, Sian spent 6 years at the Wellcome Trust, primarily working on policy issues across Infectious Disease and Discovery Research. This included focus on how development of novel vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics can be made more efficient, effective and equitable, as well as 3 years on Wellcome’s Drug-Resistant Infections priority programme.
Sian has also previously worked for the UK Global Food Security programme, a cross-Government initiative bringing together the interests of the major UK public funders of food security research. She studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and holds a Master’s in Science Communication from Imperial College London.
